Peter Gabriel

I have been a fan of Peter Gabriel since about 1982 or so. I got his third album, the "melting face" album. And yes they were albums, that so-called dark days before CD's and MP3's. I honestly still prefer albums, they do sound much better!

But I digress. I copied the album on to so many cassettes because I would ruin the tapes from being played so much! I was hooked.

Fast forward to the late 80's. I was stationed at Griffiss AFB in upstate New York and I had tickets to the Amnesty International tour in NYC. Sting and Peter were playing. Then disaster stuck, three days before the concert, a "generation" began. Basically it is practicing for war, and we average one every two months or so. And they would last for a week or so. So no concert!

But then fast forward to the early 90's sometime I got to see Peter Gabriel in concert! It was the US tour and it was the best concert I have ever seen! Even better than Trans-Siberan Orchestra, which is saying something!

So I could die a happy man!

But my favorite albums are, in no particular order, Up, "melting face" third album and Passion (The Last Temptation of Christ soundtrack).

Up was a great and massively underappreciated album. It is my favorite album as a whole, every song is great. I think it is because it sounds like his early solo work.
