[BREAKING] Perth scientology protest violence

Phone update and pictures from the scene: "around 20 minutes before we were due to begin, a fight broke out between a group of masked protestors and suspected scientologists who were present at the scene. Police intervened, breaking up the fight and arresting 10-15 protesters. There is no report of any scientologists being arrested. From what i hear the protest continues but police horses and riot squad are in attendance there.

LOCATION UNSPECIFIED - A report appeared on the website Indymedia claiming that protests staged by a group known as Anonymous have turned violent. The report suggested that violence broke out between protesters and some Scientologists, leading to the arrest of two Anonymous. However, the pictures accompanying the article were taken from the 2005 May 18th Halliburton Shareholders protest. Posters on the site were quick to point out this discrepancy, indicating that the police pictured in these images did not appear to resemble Australian police. Many are left wondering whether the article had been planted on the independent news source by the Church of Scientology in an attempt to portray the protests directed against it in an unfavorable light.

Are the Scientologist so stupid? Is this how they are going to handle Anonymous? Is this the same Scientologists who everyone feared so much?

 

This is simply pathetic. The big monster called Scientology has shown itself for what it really is, a sad and paranoid bunch of people who are behaving more and more like their sad founder every day! They are trying to plant this story to discredit and turn public opinion against Anonymous. There have also been other reports of aledged illegal acts against Scientology, but I am having serious doubts. Would the scientologists try to frame Anonymous for actions they committed to themselves? That is a very real possibility.

My wife brought up a good point about the Scientologists. They have been so badly brainwashed about the rest of the world that they honestly believe that they are superior to everyone else. And it is that very bit of self delusion that will be their undoing! For years now they have fought legal battles and won, they have been very successful in their intimidation campaigns, and that has led to an air of invincibility. They underestimated Anonymous because of that. And this is a stark reality check for them! They are not dealing with stupid people here, they are not dealing with the structured framework of a legal system, they are in unfamiliar territory. They are fighting for their ideology in an open forum with their secrets open for all to see! I tip my hat to who ever made the connection of where these photos came from. And this was done in a matter of hours! To the Scientologists the WWW is a battlefield they are ill suited to fight, and that is why Anonymous will win.
